As many of you already know, I did not start Bare Nature. I found it at a time in my life when I was looking for something more honest, more flexible, and more connected to home. In 2020, my daughter was six years old, and I wanted a way to spend more time with her while still building something meaningful.
So, I purchased Bare Nature Skincare & Cosmetics and stepped into a business that beautifully brought together so many pieces of my life: plants, design, motherhood, creativity, and care.
Since then, Bare Nature has grown with me. It has become more than a skincare company. It has become a way to create thoughtful, plant-based products for women who want their daily skincare to feel calm, beautiful, effective, and deeply supportive.
Before Bare Nature, I spent years working in design.
My professional background has woven through website design, interior design, organic landscape design, edible gardens, and permaculture design. For well over a decade, I worked closely with plants, studying how they grow, where they thrive, and how they support the spaces around them.
That experience still shapes the way I formulate today.
In landscaping, I learned to ask: What does this plant need? Where will it thrive? How does it work with the whole environment?
Now, in skincare, I ask similar questions: What does this skin need? What ingredients will support it? How can this formula feel beautiful, useful, and balanced?
The language changed, but the care stayed the same.

I have always had very sensitive, reactive skin.
Changing products often led to breakouts. Heavily scented skincare could make me feel nauseous, and some formulas caused severe redness or flushing. Because of that, I know how discouraging it feels to want beautiful skincare and still worry your skin might react.
That experience made me more thoughtful as a formulator.
I do not create products for imaginary perfect skin. I create for real skin. Skin that gets dry, tired, flushed, dull, stressed, sensitive, or unpredictable. Skin that changes with hormones, seasons, sleep, weather, stress, and life.
Bare Nature products come from that understanding.

After my daughter was born in 2014, I began studying herbalism more deeply. What started as a personal interest slowly became part of how I understood care, wellness, and the connection between plants and everyday life.
Eventually, that path led me into natural skincare formulation.
Today, I work with plant-based oils, botanical extracts, hydrosols, butters, minerals, and gentle actives to create small-batch skincare that feels sensory, nourishing, and considered.
I believe natural skincare can feel elevated without feeling complicated. It can be gentle without feeling boring. It can feel luxurious while still belonging in your everyday routine.

Every Bare Nature formula begins with intention.
I care about how a product feels in your hand, how it smells when you apply it, how your skin feels afterward, and how it fits into your real life. I care about texture, packaging, ingredient choices, and the quiet little details that make a product feel special.
Because of my design background, I also see Bare Nature as a full experience. The formula matters first, always. However, the label, the scent, the texture, the website, the photography, and the way you feel when you open the jar all matter too.
My goal is to create skincare that feels beautiful from the first glance to the final drop.
Bare Nature Skincare & Cosmetics is women-owned and operated in Vernon, British Columbia. We make our products in small batches so we can stay close to the process and maintain quality from start to finish.
Our products are plant-based, vegan friendly, and made with safe, thoughtful ingredients. Whenever possible, we choose organic botanicals and ingredients that support healthy-looking skin without unnecessary harshness.
This is skincare for women who want softness, steadiness, and everyday luxury. Not a complicated 12-step routine. Not another beauty standard to chase. Just beautiful, natural skincare made with care.
Later this month, I will be sharing more through Notes From Nature, our monthly letter from Bare Nature.
Think of it as a softer place to learn about skincare, plants, seasonal living, stress, beauty, and the small ways we can care for ourselves through each season of life.
It will be part education, part behind-the-scenes, part love letter to nature, skin, and slower living.
I hope it feels like a small exhale in your inbox.

Bare Nature has become a place where my love of plants, design, formulation, and motherhood all meet.
I am grateful every time someone chooses one of our products for their skin, their bathroom counter, their bedside table, their gift basket, or their quiet moment at the end of a long day.
Thank you for being here.
Your skin is not separate from your life. It is living right alongside you. And when you begin to care for it with more kindness, something shifts.
Skincare becomes less about fixing yourself and more about coming back to yourself.
That is the heart of Bare Nature. 🌿
