Hey Wildflowers,
Welcome to the first edition of Notes From Nature.
I’m so glad you’re here.
This little letter is something I’ve been dreaming into for a while now. A softer place to share what’s happening inside Bare Nature, what we’re learning from the plants, what your skin might be asking for this season, and the small, thoughtful rituals that help us feel more at home in ourselves.
Because skincare was never meant to be another thing to perfect.
It can be a pause.
A deep breath.
A warm cloth at the end of a long day.
A quiet way of saying, I’m still here. I’m still worth caring for.
When I purchased Bare Nature in 2020, my daughter was six years old and I was looking for a way to spend more time at home with her. What I found was more than a business. I found a path back to the plants, back to slow work, and back to the kind of beauty that does not ask us to fight ourselves.
My own skin has always been sensitive and reactive. New products could trigger breakouts, heavy scents could make me feel nauseous, and anything too harsh would leave my skin red, flushed, and unhappy. So much of my work now is rooted in that understanding: skincare should feel safe, supportive, and beautifully uncomplicated.
Here in Notes From Nature, you can expect a mix of:
seasonal skincare guidance,
behind-the-scenes studio notes,
botanical ingredient stories,
and little reminders to care for your skin in the season you’re actually in.
For July, we’re leaning into summer skin.
The kind of skin that has been in the garden, by the lake, under the sun, on the trail, at the market, in the car with the windows down. Skin that might be feeling a little warm, thirsty, tired, or tender.
This month, I’ll be sharing more about hydration, summer repair, and the difference between chasing a glow and nourishing the skin so it can return to one naturally.
Because your skin lives life with you.
It changes with your stress, your sleep, your hormones, your seasons, your joy, your grief, your long days, your lake days, your late nights, and your quiet mornings.
And when we stop treating our skin like something separate from ourselves, something beautiful begins to shift.
Skincare becomes less of a task.
More of a return.
Thank you for being here for this first note. I hope these letters feel like a small pocket of calm in your inbox, something useful, honest, and rooted in nature.
With softness,
Jana

P.S. Keep an eye out this month for more summer skin notes, a few behind-the-scenes updates from the studio, and some early glimpses of what we’ve been formulating for the next season.
